D-CAN 30 – Desiccant Dehumidifier

The patented D-CAN 30 from DryAir delivers all of the benefits of desiccant drying with reduced electrical requirements, lower operating temperatures and up to a 50% fuel savings compared to traditional Diesel/Electric systems.

At a maximum of 3,000 CFM the D-CAN 30 is capable of removing 1,944 pints or 292 gallons of water per day.

There are no combustion by-products to vent from the D-CAN 30 granting operators the added flexibility of being able to place the unit inside or outside the structure for easier setup.

The D-CAN 30 is not as susceptible to overheating and will not shut down if the ducting of the reactivation air becomes restricted.

Only 2 – 115V/15A circuits are required to run the blowers; no high voltage cords means increased safety on the site.

Turn the desiccant wheel off and the D-CAN 30 offers the added flexibility of operating as a 300,000 BTU heat exchanger to provide temporary heat to the structure.

What makes the D-CAN 30 different from any other desiccant dehumidifier?

DryAir Central Heating Units or greenthaw towable hydronic units are used as the heat source for reactivation of the desiccant wheel.  Many of the commonly used desiccant dehumidifiers this size utilize electric heat to reactivate the desiccant wheel.  Often the electrical requirements far exceed the electricity available on the site, so large diesel generators are brought in to provide the power.  These generators only convert approximately 30% of the fuel burned into usable electricity for reactivation of the desiccant wheel.  DryAir’s hydronic systems convert over 80% of the fuel burned into usable heat making them up to 50% more efficient than diesel/electric desiccant systems.

Utilizing DryAir’s safe and reliable hydronic systems as the heat source opens up a number of options for fuel choices including: Diesel, Propane, Natural Gas or even Steam. Each D-CAN 30 requires 175,000 BTU’s of heat for the reactivation of the desiccant wheel.

Here is a summary of the number of D-CAN 30 units you can run off of each DryAir hydronic system:
