In its simplest form, the DryAir system utilizes a diesel, propane or natural gas-fired hydronic water heater or a steam to fluid heat exchanger to warm a heat transfer fluid which is, in turn, pumped through a fluid circulation system loop to heat exchangers at remote locations,
The following two types of exchangers are most commonly used:
- Portable Heat Exchangers heat and recirculate warm, dry, clean air inside a structure utilizing a heat transfer coil and fan. This type of heat exchanger is used primarily in heating and drying applications.
- Thaw/Cure Hose transfers heat by direct contact and radiant heat conduction. This type of heat exchanger is used primarily in ground thaw, frost prevention and curing applications.
When considering the right heating system for your construction site the DryAir system offers many fuel saving, health and safety advantages…
Heat Enclosed Structures With Less Energy!
- DryAir´s portable heat exchangers are the ideal way to heat and/or dry enclosed structures. Their compact and mobile design make for easy positioning
- DryAir’s Heat Exchangers´ offer a “no-fire”, fluid-to-air heat transfer process that provides clean, heated, low relative humidity air.
- Heat Exchangers are re-heating already warmed inside air making them more efficient than other systems that are required to constantly heat outside cold air up to the desired inside temperature level. Thermostats on each heat exchanger shut them off when the area has reached the desired temperature. A lower demand for heat from the outside Central Heating Unit will allow it to cycle down to a low fire mode or shut off completely when the structure has reached the desired temperature for a further fuel savings.
- Heated fluid is pumped into the building through rubber insulated hoses that can be further insulated with insulating blankets. This is a much more efficient method of transferring heat compared to thin uninsulated ducts used on indirect heaters that are more prone to heat loss to the cold outside air and CFM loss when turning the duct work to go into the building.
- Clean, low humidity heat delivery minimizes energy costs by eliminating the need to draw in fresh outside air.
Provide An Optimum Environment For Interior Finish Work & Improves Finishing
- The low humidity, combustion by-product free air delivered by the DryAir portable heat exchangers ensures an optimum work environment which will affect your bottom line by saving you time and money. The DryAir system will also allow you to deliver on a superior finished product and ensure customer satisfaction!
- Allows for daily application of joint compound or finish texture to drywall.
- Minimizes expansion and contraction of wallboard
- Reduces amount of downtime between finished drywall and paint application
- Eliminates shading of paint caused by residue from open flame heaters
- Allows better adhesion of caulking materials
- Provides a drier surface for application of adhesives, epoxy and urethane coatings and epoxy joint fillers
- Reduces the chance of shrinkage at mitered joints in finish trim materials
- Reduces the number of callbacks and rework projects
- Speeds up the overall project by allowing multiple trades to do this work simultaneously, additional moisture they are adding to the structure can be removed by the DryAir system
Multi-tasking Capabilities
- Heat, thaw and cure… all at the same time… with only one heating system
- Modular plug and play design
- Allows you to customize your heating approach for every project
- The DryAir system is a full multi-functional product.
- Its unmatched versatility ensures your building projects progress as quickly as possible… with the best possible return on your investment!
- The curing and thawing processes can be done while heating the structure and drying down after the drywall process.
Reduce Building Cost... Substantial Energy Savings!
- When used to its fullest potential, the DryAir system will reduce your overall building costs by reducing the costs of fuel and labor while eliminating delays in the building process!
- Clean, low humidity heat delivery minimizes energy costs by eliminating the need to draw in fresh outside air. This will ensure reduced fuel consumption and, thereby, reduce heating costs!
No Fire or Boiler Watch Required!
- With a DryAir system, all combustion takes place outside… away from the heated structure.
- No open flame inside the structure means no fire risk!
- The atmospherically vented, low-pressure fluid distribution system will not cause an explosion or line burst due to pressure build-up.
- The pressure relief valve that is installed on the heat exchange section functions only as a secondary level of safety in the event that the tank vent becomes blocked.
Promote A Healthy, Safe Work Environment!
- As no caustic fumes from the combustion process are introduced into the heated structure, a healthy working environment is maintained.
- This can improve worker productivity with less employee sick days!
- With low operating temperatures of 110 to 200°F (43 to 93°C), the danger of DryAir equipment causing a burn injury within the target structure is minimal.
Promote A Mold-free Work Environment!
- Every builder today has to be aware of the potential liability concerns related to mold.
- The DryAir system will actually lower and maintain a low humidity environment… essential for inhibiting mold growth!
- Traditional open flame heaters will introduce moisture into the structure. One of the major combustion by-products of this type of heater is moisture.
- For example, a 1 MBTU direct fired, propane heater can produce up to 8.33 gallons of water/per hour, or 200 gallons of water/24 hour period and contribute to a high humidity environment… ideal conditions for mold growth!
